Not a like-for-like comparison[edit]

Although the data in this article is sourced, the selection and comparison is neither sourced nor consistent. London and Tyneside are approximations to conurbations, Birmingham and Leeds are cities, Greater Manchester South and Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan are NUTS3 areas that are neither cities nor conurbations. Most of the areas are NUTS3 areas, but lots of NUTS3 areas aren't included, and London is a NUTS1 area. The article certainly isn't a list of cities by GVA, which is what is claims to be, neither is it a list of conurbations.

The source doesn't concern itself with cities, it is organised around NUTS areas. The only way I can see a consistent article could be made out of this source would be to include all of the NUTS3 areas above a certain size and rename it List of NUTS3 areas in the United Kingdom by GVA. Alternatively, or additionally, figures for a small number of the largest urban areas are available from PWC here [1]. As far as I know no figures for a consistent and comprehensive list of actual cities is available. JimmyGuano (talk) 08:52, 23 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
