POV and OR Tags[edit]

I had edited Armenian Forces to occupying forces and had my edits reverted. I have added POV and OR tags because this article refers to withdrawal of Armenian Forces when in fact the UN resolution refers to the withdrawal of occupying forces. There is a difference. The Nagorno Karabakh War official occurred between Azerbaijan and the ethnic Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh. Perhaps Armenians from Armenia put on uniforms with the Nagorno Karabakh flag and fought. Perhaps they were encouraged by Armenia, and perhaps there was shelling that occurred across the Armenia-Azerbaijan border but officially this conflict was between Azerbaijan and the ethnic Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh. This is highlighted further in the last UN resolution statement that asks for Armenia to use it's influence amongst the Nagorno Karabakh Armenians. I have partially reverted back the links to the various battles in Wikipedia that the UN resolution is referring to. I think we should agree to the wording to remove the POV tags.

Well, if these these are so many perhaps then maybe we should add this information int he article itself. The conflict is not officially between Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan. This conflict involved combat operations throughout the border in Qazakh-Ijevan, Nakhchevan-Southwestern Armenia, and of course Kelbajar, Gubatly, Zengelan-Southeatern Armenia.
No matter what uniforms Armenians in Karabakh and Armenia wore, specifically regions of Kelbajar, Zangelan, Lachin and Gubatli were attacked from both sides (Armenians in Karabakh and Armenians in Armenia). The consensus cannot be reached just by labelling those forces "occupying forces". At least put "Occupying Armenian forces". Until then the article is reverted to previous version. Which perhaps's are you referring to? Please stop reverting relevant information from the article like the links to the actual battles that occurred during these resolutions. The resolutions aren't about anything that happened in Qazakh, they are about Kelbajar, Aghdam, Fizuli, and Zangelan.
My preference for wording would be something akin to "Separatist Forces from Nagorno Karabakh" but we should get input from from both the Armenian and Azerbaijani editors. I notified both Wikiproject Armenia and Wikiproject Azerbaijan yesterday. Let's get their input and go from there. In the mean time, please leave the article as it is with the tags and with the links to the battles that occurred. Pocopocopocopoco 23:50, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AFD[edit]

This so called article qualifies for AFD. Whats the purpose of having this here.? See What Wikipedia is notVartanM 18:09, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

are there other resolutions?[edit]

At present the table only includes the four that were previously listed, but that might have been because the summary was

4 UN Security Security Resolutions have been passed during Nagorno-Karabakh war calling on withdrawal of Armenian troops from occupied Azerbaijani territories.

which I have trimmed down to

Four UN Security Security Resolutions have been passed during the Nagorno-Karabakh war.

My change to the inclusion criteria expands the scope, which was my intention to avoid the list being POV due to a narrowly defined criteria. It is better to have too many than too few - we can always reduce the prominence of any resolutions that were of minor significance. John Vandenberg (talk) 22:11, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty certain there were only four. I will look into it further. Pocopocopocopoco (talk) 04:38, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There are only four. VartanM (talk) 05:20, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are there more if we expand the scope further to include any security resolutions regarding Azeri-Armenian tensions since then? John Vandenberg (talk) 05:34, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, there are no other UNSC resolutions about NK conflict. There are UN General Assembly resolutions that mention the conflict. Grandmaster (talk) 05:54, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wikisource'em if you have them. VartanM (talk) 16:51, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'll look for them when I have time. Grandmaster (talk) 10:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

merger[edit]

United Nations Security Council Resolution 884 or the other 3 have no prospect of growing out of their stub form. I'm proposing merging the United Nations Security Council Resolution 884 to here and creating redirects for the other 3. This way we can have one article that has all the information on all resolutions and redirects if someone was to search for them. VartanM (talk) 22:16, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article content[edit]

This article is just a summary of what each resolution said. Whatever happened before or after has no relevance here. Here we just summarize the text of each resolution, and link to the articles about the resolutions, where details could be added. Grandmaster 07:41, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
