Dr. Rafsanjani I presume

What is the source that Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has a PhD in Sociology from Berkeley? I checked the Sociology Department home page, where PhD Alumni are listed, and his name does not show[1].

Neither does the UC Berkeley library catalog have a thesis written by him (since PhD thesis are supposed to be there)[2]

Originally the wikipedia entry of Rafsanjani had this claim[3], but his was removed on May 12 2006.

I listed NASCAR driver Bill Lester under athletics, even though his degrees are in computer science and electrical engineering. He is famous as an athlete. Royalbroil 05:39, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of these football players that are listed never actually graduated. Hence, I removed their years of graduation from their names, as they imply that those players actually earned degrees at Cal, which they did not. Sakhalinrf 07:21, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

size split?

[edit]

Support - Article is over 100kB, and should be split into sections. Thoughts???--Jax 0677 (talk) 13:23, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

TBH Jax 0677 I think you are on a hiding to nothing with the list of alumni articles. If you split them then the resulting articles are hardly notable. I would question the notability of the articles at all, but I suspect they would survive a nomination for deletion. If you are still determined to split the articles then I would lokk at several of then and come up with a common strategy and go for it, doing several at a time. If you come round to my way of thinking then you may as well remove the tags. Good luck. Op47 (talk) 23:34, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
