Minor correction[edit]

I've made a slight tweak, changing Magennis's unit from HMS X3 to HMS XE3. There were two separate classes of midget submarine in service with the Royal Navy during the Second World War, the X class submarine, and the improved successor, the XE class submarine. The former operated off the Norwegian coast, gaining their own Victoria Cross for actions against the Tirpitz. HMS X3 had a more sedate life though. The XE class were deployed in the Pacific later on in the war, and it was in HMS XE3 that Magennis served. I assumed that a typo or a slip of the mind (I'm guilty of many) was responsible and changed it. I'd normally just have done it and explained in the edit summary, but since this is a featured list I thought I ought to explain my reasoning in case in conflicted with a source somewhere. Number by conflict[edit]

I read this sentence as referring to specifically naval VCs, since it follows a sentence starting, "In this list", in which case the Crimea vastly outweighs the Inidan Rebellion. Woody, could you clarify your original intention. Total numbers don't seem particualrly relevant here. David Underdown (talk) 15:35, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You read my intentions correctly, perhaps it can be reworded to emphasise this? I don't think total numbers are relevant here, they need to be specific to the individual lists in my opinion. Woody (talk) 17:45, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
