@Catrìona: I have purposely chosen the division format for two reasons:
Any unit size above that (Army group, Army, Army Corps) constantly changed compositions and were unsuitable as a unit. The source generally does not attribute war crimes to any of those (there are a few exceptions however).
The source I used does break the list down to divisions and their sub-units. However, the list of units in the source is very long and potentially a massive effort to all list here. There is also the question of notability. Individual divisions are obviously notable as most of those have an article but units below that (Regiment, Battalions, etc.) do not seem to be or, at least, don't seem to have articles.
I think Divisions is a suitable inclusion criteria. What other form of units are you thinking of including, out of interest? Turismond (talk) 03:17, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No that makes sense, I'll defer to you on the unit/division issue. I was wondering if there was a reason you have "involved in war crimes" instead of "that committed war crimes" in the title? I think the latter would be more specific if you think that it's suitable. Catrìona (talk) 03:22, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Either works for me. I have no objection if you want to change the article title to committed. I just prefer to keep "Division" in the article name to give it a clear inclusion criteria and keep the list at a reasonable length. Turismond (talk) 03:34, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
