Austria: Western European Country

[edit]

Who says Austria isn't part of Western Europe? Of course it is!!

Geographically most people would consider it part of Central Europe. FlagSteward (talk) 03:22, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WTF???

[edit]

What is the purpose of such lists of Jews by country on Wikipedia?? I have looked through some of them and they seem to incorporate everyone who might have the slightest Jewish ancestry. That is complete rubbish and way over the top. Who will set up lists of Catholics by country?? Or Mormons by country?? This is not the Encyclopidia Judaica. Cush (talk) 09:12, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jews are an historic people with a diaspora. Whereas people like mormons have only been around for about 200 years and have only stayed in one place, for the most part. 24.3.188.230 (talk) 14:47, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch and Belgian communities

[edit]

the current Dutch and Belgian communities originate in the Jewish expulsion from Spain and Portugal,

Most Jews in The Netherlands have German last names. So it is more likely that the majority of Dutch Jews origin from German Jews instead of Spanish and Portuguese Jews.
