Merger proposal[edit]

Why are there four or five articles on the same subject????????????--Petebutt (talk) 11:29, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

When I devolved the lists of non-ace balloon busters from Balloon busters, I broke it four ways to keep the size down for dialup connections. If they are to be merged, the list title under which they are listed should not detract or distract from the aces listed in Balloon busters. At present, the existing four lists are dependent upon that article, as they should be.

Other than that, I have no views upon the subject.

It seems a bit silly to limit articles to suit the slowest internet connections. I think it is safe to assume that the majority of readers will have a modest broadband connection.--Petebutt (talk) 22:02, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think all the articles are rather ridiculous and should be deleted. Wikipedia can't have endless, trivial lists of everything.109.148.123.51 (talk) 18:27, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Pete,

Limiting article size to suit internet connections is not my idea. When my original List of World War I flying aces grew to be the second largest article in WP, I was chastised by The Internet Watchmen and told to break it down. At that time, they stumped for 32K bytes as maximum article size.

I think size constraints have long been gone. I think merging should be noncontroversial now. Ctbeiser (talk) 05:05, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
