Steve McQueen instead of Brad Pitt

[edit]

Brad Pitt shouldn't be at the centre of the 'List of accolades received by 12 Years a Slave' topic as far as information and the picture is concerned as it's not his film as apart from producing (contributing to the film being made) and having a small appearance he hardly had anything to do with with the creative process as McQueen did. --Bartallen2 (talk) 20:48, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So the image needs to be changed, as does the information to highlight McQueen's importance. --Bartallen2 (talk) 20:48, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the image should be changed to Steve McQueen especially with an image available on his page. Erik (talk | contribs) 21:04, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Best picture

[edit]

So the film has officially won Best Picture at the Academy Awards, and while not a surprising result, is obviously a really big deal. The article really shouldn't be nominated FAC until the remaining awards have been given out, meaning June this year. But considering this page is going to have a huge degree of visitors in the upcoming week, I think it should be cleaned up quite a bit.

As both the article creator and main editor, there's only so much I can do. This is by the biggest award page for any film on this website, and sorting through the entire thing is a task too large for one editor. The references are mostly fine but need a severe update, and a shit ton need to be added following some of its wins. Not to mention the tally needs to re-counted and fixed up, and trust me, that will be a massive head-ache. This article is just insanely, inhumanly long, but considering the importance of the film and its award tally (the biggest by far of any film ever) it should be a very crucial task. Assistance by anyone will be greatly appreciated! Bruce Campbell (talk) 06:14, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And the lead needs a complete rewrite, mostly due to me. Bruce Campbell (talk) 05:51, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Non-notable awards

[edit]

I take issue with a few of the awards included in this article, in that they appear to have no notability at all. Specifics are: Black Film Critics Circle, Capri Film Festival, Final Draft Annual Awards, Gold Derby Awards, International Cinephile Society Awards, Nevada Film Critics Society, North Carolina Film Critics, and UK Regional Critics' Film Awards. Unless articles are created for these events/institutions, they should be removed as discussed here, or a conversation should be opened at WT:FILM.
