FCC and obscenity[edit]

I have now reverted several attempts by an editor to add text suggesting that the FCC is actively monitoring the airwaves for obscene material during the shutdown. The provided source does not say this - it only says that the FCC may respond to complaints filed AFTER the conclusion of the shutdown. Further, the FCC's shutdown plan says: "Consumer complaint and inquiry phone lines cannot be answered; consumer protection and local competition enforcement must cease; licensing services, including broadcast, wireless, and wireline, must cease; management of radio spectrum and the creation of new opportunities for competitive technologies and services for the American public must be suspended; and equipment authorizations, including those bringing new electronic devices to American consumers, cannot be provided." My understanding is that the FCC's mechanism for monitoring obscenity is to respond to consumer complaints. Clearly that is not happening and the editor has not provided a source that suggests it is happening. GabrielF (talk) 00:48, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
