Belgium 1815-1832

[edit]

This article cites reputable sources for the ambassador's title being "Ambassador (etc) to Belgium", which is used in contemporary sources for what modern historians refer to as the Kingdom of the United Netherlands. It is clear that was its contemporaary name, though the term "Belgium" is now used only for the nation now known by that name. Please do not alter this. I have reverted this yet again. My source is cited against each of the envoys named. This is a list which names the country to which they went as "Belgium". I have also seen the name used in Customs statistical records in The National Archives. This was a surprise to me when I first came across it. I suspect that the usage ceased when the southern kingdom adopted the name Belgium in 1832. Peterkingiron (talk) 18:00, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ambassador/Envoy

[edit]

What is all this in-and-out running in the title? It seems to switch from Ambassador to Envoy Plenepotentary at different times for no reason. What is the thinking here? 2A00:23C7:E284:CF00:9968:5236:770D:A198 (talk) 22:15, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
