Bands that are out of scope

[edit]

AFI is from Mendocino County. I'm taking them off. (unsigned edit details: 16:51, November 23, 2006 User:69.106.39.158 User talk:69.106.39.158)

Linda Ronstandt is NOT a Bay Area recording artist but came to fame after relocating to Los Angeles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.5.212.157 (talk) 01:34, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Donnas and Whipping Boy are from Palo Alto - San Francisco/Peninsula, not South Bay. Fixed entry. Jtsterling (talk) 01:00, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bands vs. musicians vs. musical performers vs. something else

[edit]

Is the article intended to be limited to bands/groups? There's nothing to the contrary in the lead, as far as I can see, but I do see several individuals listed (e.g. someone just added Tupac Shakur). Maybe a move is in order? Or removing individuals from the list? Or at least clarification in the lead? --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 13:58, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable list

[edit]

This is not a reliable list. Many of these artists come from other locations. Metallica is from Los Angeles. Greg Kihn is from Baltimore. Van Morrison is Irish. The Mo-Ja'al (talk) 04:52, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. Turk Murphy Jazz Band is missing from the list. San Fran has a street named after him, but he's not in the band list? 2604:6000:1419:4505:8803:4C74:130:B12B (talk) 05:10, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Something of Note

[edit]

2Pac and The Youngbloods are from New York, not the Bay Area. Wolf O'Donnel (talk) 08:10, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
