Saturn sales Japan

[edit]

In 1999, before the Dreamcast was released in the U.S, I remember reading i several game magazines that Saturn had sold over 8 million in Japan and was considered a breakthrough for Sega in the japanese market. Do I have a source for this? Not at all but I have to question the million figure in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericdxx (talkcontribs) 11:36, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please update

[edit]

Someone needs to update this, its an example of out of date wikipedia shit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.67.197.165 (talkcontribs) 08:58 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Yeah I am inclined to agree, it also just doesn't seem accurate. The idea that the most popular console of all time PS2 didn't sell more than 1.05 million units in the United Kingdom seems pretty silly. Obviously, the article is also missing any data from current generations. 159.92.238.45 (talk) 14:48, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

NES European sales

Anyone know where the 8.5 million figure comes from? Halbared (talk) 21:14, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Genesis/Mega Drives are not still in production

[edit]

This article lists that Sega Genesis/Mega Drive units are still in production in North America and Europe, which simply isn't the case. Sega discontinued the line worldwide in the late 1990s. If the argument is that they're sold in some 3rd party capacity, this still seems disingenuous, as they aren't being made/sold by Sega and aren't available in any mainstream retailer. To have them grouped in the same category with the modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles seems silly, and I suggest it is no longer marked as such in the tables.

Does adding up numbers for the Master System for Europe fall under WP:synth?Halbared (talk) 23:02, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be okay to add up each market individually. However, forums like NeoGAF and Giant Bomb are not reliable sources. You'll need to find better sources than those. Maestro2016 (talk) 17:01, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Playstation

[edit]

Playstation sold 40 million in North America and 30 million in the USA. 10 million outside of the USA? This doesn't seem feasible.Halbared (talk) 14:41, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone have issue with me removing the extraneous number?19:43, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

Analogue television colour systems

[edit]

PAL, SECAM and NTSC are spread across different geographic points, one can't just label Europe as PAL, PAL was in Europe, Asia, South America etc. Sales based on colour systems and not regions can't just be wedged into this regional list.Halbared (talk) 18:59, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
