August 30, 2020 revision[edit]

This revision makes the following changes to replace Bird Checkists of the World as the source and update the taxonomy to the most recent version of Clements:

Revise the sequence of families and of species within families per Clements.
Revise the English names of families per Clements.
Update family texts and add missing ones. Texts are derived from the families' articles; see them for original sources.
Add two families and 15 species per the new primary source, Hungarianbirdwatching.com.
Add 14 species per the new supplementary source, eBird.
Revise 38 common names and a specific epithet per Clements.
Delete 13 species that aren't in either of the new sources.
Add tags per Bird Checkists of the World.
Convert to reflist.
Add the national bird.
Revise the introductory text, counts, and references to reflect the above.

Capitalization of Hungarian language species names[edit]

This list has all the Hungarian language species names capitalized. From what I can learn from Wikipedia, that is not standard in Hungarian. When I look at the page in Hungarian Wikipedia which is equivalent to this one, Magyarország madárfajainak listája, none of the species common names are capitalized.

If there's a consensus to do so, or at least no objection, I'll edit this article to remove capital letters from the species common names. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding. Thank you, SchreiberBike | ⌨ 23:04, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
