Seems to only be notable for his age, not convinced he qualifies for inclusion in this article. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 08:44, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

I agree, in fact we already discussed (and removed) him once: Talk:Lists of centenarians/Archive 1#Update. Canadian Paul 14:30, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I am puzzled: It seems to me being notable for age is what the list of centenarians is about. Do they also have to be notable in their fields? How does one list someone who made it to 107 who is otherwise not notable? (BTW, I think Chittick is notable, but I can discuss that later.) Please get back to me on this soon.--Jrm2007 (talk) 14:40, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
The rough standard we use is, if this person died 50 years ago, but still accomplished everything else they had, would that person still have a Wikipedia page? If the answer is "probably not", then we don't include them. If we included just everyone who was notable for their age, there'd be no difference between this list and all the associated oldest people lists. As with anything though, any individual is subject to consensus, so we've included some and left others just by talk page agreement. Canadian Paul 15:26, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
