2012 census data concerning cities[edit]

"Population by Distribution by Administrative Units" was released by the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics on 30 March 2013, based on the 2012 census. The problem we have for this article is defining what each city is in the table. For example, both Dar es Salaam and Mwanza are regions. Neither has a municipal or town council by that name. Below is a list of all the municipal and town councils and their populations.
