Citations needed on population/area percentages - I am (believe it or not), the individual who originally wrote that section out, so many years ago. I have long since "retired" from active Wikipedia editing/writing, but noticed that this was flagged for lack of citations. While I completely understand why the issues exist, I don't believe this to be a problem, as the total area noted was simply a sum of the areas of the 9 cities below (which is from Census data), and the calculation was also based on the total area of the state (Census data). My objective in presenting the conclusions was to demonstrate how little of my home state was considered part of a "city," considering nearly 20% of Vermonters live in those areas.

However, as I said, I no longer concern myself with editing and that side of Wikipedia, so if those who do decide that my fact needs to go, I understand. 68.112.96.145 (talk) 04:14, 11 January 2013 (UTC) (fka Raj_Fra)[reply]

Needs 2020 census numbers[edit]

I am just flagging that this page still has 2010 census numbers. The 2020 census is now out, which is presumably why someone added the "needs updating" template to the page. I'll add this to my own list to do at some point, but if anyone else has time before I do, please go right ahead and update the page! - Dyork (talk) 17:34, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The 2020 census numbers are not out yet, but they should be out relatively soon. So the flag is a bit early. Mattximus (talk) 19:44, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah... thanks, Mattximus. I see from 2020 United States census that the numbers released in April were for the overall state and not yet for individual towns and cities. I thought that was out already. - Dyork (talk) 01:56, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Me too! Apparently they released 2020 "estimates" for individual towns and cities, but the official counts are not yet posted. I can't find out the date when they are but it should be soon. It would be amazing if we could use this format below for Vermont since many of the other states use the same format:
Name Type County Population
(2020)
Population
(2010)
Change Land area

  • I like that table! Very nicely done. - Dyork (talk) 01:36, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
