Merge[edit]

I suggest we merge this into "List of science fiction conventions" (as is being mooted for other similar lists) with its new sortable table. The resulting super list would have a sortable column for subject matter. -- Niu 10:56, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All the unique cons have been ported over. --Tbmorgan74 21:55, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Reject!!!! Most of the conventions on this list are commercial shows run by for-profit corporations. As such, they have little in common with science fiction conventions (which are fan-run and not-for-profit). You would create greater confusion on both sides. --Orange Mike 22:24, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree there are definitely similarities between genres, but merging the list would create confusion.

Inclusion criterion[edit]

A convention is presumed noteworthy if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the convention and satisfies the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article. UnitedStatesian (talk) 15:25, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rename and move[edit]

I propose a move to "List of comics conventions". Comic book is a publishing form, comics is a medium. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 16:18, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Germany[edit]

Are there any causes for editing the german conventions out? 95.91.186.16 (talk) 21:31, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Comic Con[edit]

Both Comic Con and Comic-Con forward here, but then it's far too difficult to find San Diego Comic-Con which is tucked away somewhere halfway to huge list under the United States heading. For anyone other than the in-crowd, Comic Con = San Diego Comic-Con. If you, for example, Google 'Comic Con' then the search engine will very clearly focus completely on "Comic-Con International: San Diego". In other words, the current lead of this list lacks a quick link to San Diego Comic-Con. It's not enough to say just 'This is a list of noteworthy comic book conventions' and then start with Algeria, Egypt, etc. --143.176.30.65 (talk) 15:26, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
