Copyright?[edit]

I'm not quite sure what the bounds of copyright are in this article. It seems rather undesirable to paraphrase a works list, but I'm not sure if we can copy the necessary information from the book outright, which is essentially what I have been doing. Just wanted to make sure of this before I continue on from "A". —Sesquialtera II (talk) 18:47, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for starting the article! I wish knew how to answer your question. I was planning to incorporate Bouchard's, Welter's and Tsukamoto's numbers in the article and organize it thematically like Tsukamoto does, rather than alphabetically like Perreault - so in its finished form, the article will be free of copyright problems. But right now.. I don't know :( Jashiin 20:04, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will just add more for now. I feel that the author(s) would not be opposed to our making their cataloguing system more widely disseminated, so I will assume that it is fine until we can put it into a thematic organization, as you say (I agree that that would be a better way of organizing the pieces). —Sesquialtera II (talk) 20:28, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Everything's up now.. feel free to began the thematic organization! —Sesquialtera II (talk) 20:21, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Great job! I have to finish what I began at Goldberg Variations (I hate leaving things unfinished), but as soon as I'm done there I'll start working on this list. Meanwhile, I've got a couple of questions: 1) what are the "deleted" entries?, 2) does Perreault specify possible attribution for any of the entries marked "ascription questioned"? Jashiin 22:11, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Perreault includes in his catalog any piece that has ever been ascribed to Pachelbel in a manuscript. Clearly, that's a broad spectrum, and that's what he intends. Yes, there are a significant number of possible composers - I will add those. I couldn't find any mention of the "deleted" entries elsewhere in the book, although I only scanned through the introduction and the appendices. I'm assuming they were just removed for some reason or another, and mentioned as deleted so as not to make readers wonder why that particular number was left out. Which apparently didn't work.. —Sesquialtera II (talk) 16:29, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Achilles?[edit]

57* - Christ ist erstanden, aria, Soprano, vn, b.c. ((?)Achilles?)

I'm pretty sure that it can't be Achilles Alferaki, and I couldn't find any mention of a Baroque composer with this surname anywhere. Just thought I'd mention here so that in case someone comes here someday who knows who this Achilles is. Jashiin 12:42, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Achilles could be a pseudonym. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.35.30.227 (talk) 21:37, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
