Does ABC have NFL football?

[edit]

--Wyn.junior (talk) 03:23, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ABC use to carry Monday Night Football from 1970 to 2005. ABC lost millions of dollars on televising the games during the late 1990s and 2000s. And when the NFL proposed that Sunday night be the new night for its marquee game, because more people tend to watch television on Sundays, and games held on that night would be more conducive to flexible scheduling, ABC did not want to give up its Sunday night programming. And so the marquee Sunday Night game went to be NBC Sunday Night Football. This meant the end of ESPN Sunday Night Football, and so ESPN took Monday night instead. Article title

[edit]

I moved the article back to "broadcasters" - same consistent formatting (see WP:NAMECRITERIA) as List of current National Hockey League broadcasters, List of current Major League Baseball broadcasters, and List of current National Basketball Association broadcasters. It appears that these articles' primary intention is to list the regional/local broadcasters for each team, including those radio stations and TV channels that carry the games. The addition of commentators or announcers (including play-by-play announcers and color commentators) is, more or less, a secondary purpose. The only major difference on this page is that all NFL regular season and playoff games are televised by national networks. Otherwise, everything else is primarily the same, including regional/local broadcasters on radio. Zzyzx11 (talk) 09:23, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
