Remoived[edit]

I've removed Bring Me The Horizon, not due to the fact that they're not death metal, but due to the fact that they're NOT metal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.165.35.194 (talk) 23:24, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some doesn't belong[edit]

Impaled Nazarene, Children of Bodom, Hatebreed, Heaven Shall Burn, Cavalera Conspiracy, Carnifex and to some degree Job for a Cowboy are bands that shouldn't be on this list. All of these bands' styles are dominantly something else with just traits of death metal in their music. They should be removed. Sadist King (talk) 17:01, 13 July 2011 (UTC)Sadist King[reply]

Do you have sources that say that these bands are not death metal?--3family6 (talk) 20:46, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Metal Archives (MA) specialize in metal music and catagorizing it.

Impaled Nazarene's own Wikipedia page states it's not a death metal band, which means there's an inconsistency right here. Also; Impaled Nazarene's MA page states it's not a death metal band. As for Children of Bodom, it's more fitting to have it over the the melodic death metal list, since once again the band's own Wikipedia page state melodic death metal as it's genre, rather than plain death metal (another inconsistency). Children of Bodom's MA page, also melodic death metal stated.

And with Hatebreed, once again, look at the band's Wikipedia page and RYM page. Once again, the list is inconsistent. And Carnifex is deathcore, MA page, [http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/carnifex RYM page, both pages state deatcore as genre. Heaven Shall Burn, MA page state melodic death metal and metalcore as genres, and so does their RYM page.

Cavalera Conspiracy; MA page states groove and thrash metal, far from death metal, oddly enough even the band's RYM page states the same. And among genres for the band here on Wikipedia, it states both thrash and groove metal. Also, scratch what I said about Job for a Cowboy, last time I heard them, they were deathcore. Bring Me the Horizon is not death metal either, see; Wikipedia page and RYM page for genres. The term death metal is nowhere to be found. Arch Enemy is melodic death metal, always have been, see here; Wikipedia page and MA page as well as RYM page. As I Lay Dying is a metalcore band, see here; RYM page and MA page, as well as their Wikipedia page which though adds melodic death metal also have metalcore. I've left a comment on the L-Z death metal page. Please continue any more discussion on there or on the general List of death metal bands page.--3family6 (talk) 14:38, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
