About limiting this article to prisoners with Wikipedia pages

[edit]

At the time of this writing, this article says that "Due to the high number of death row inmates, only prisoners with Wikipedia pages are listed". However, at the time of this writing, this article's size is 4,779 bytes and the article says that as of December 21, 2021, Japan had 107 people on death row. And, at the time of this writing, this article already lists 17 people. While I can understand limiting the death row inmates listed within the sections of certain jurisdictions in the List of death row inmates in the United States-article to death row inmates with Wikipedia pages since that article (at the time of this writing) says that there were 2,213 death row inmates in the United States as of July 1, 2024, I think the (compared to the United States) relatively low number of death row inmates in Japan can allow for all of Japan's death row inmates to be listed within this article. @Heart of Destruction: I second this suggestion, and this could possibly lead to the translation of some articles from the Japanese Wikipedia covering some of their death row cases that are not currently available here. Haunted Spy (talk) 15:33, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Heart of Destruction I also agree with your assessment. I might add you could sort the death row inmates by what detention center they are housed in Username 7156890 (talk) 21:32, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so, at the time of this writing, there are two editors for including all of Japan's death row inmates in this article and nobody opposed to it. I was thinking about the following: First, the "Due to the high number of death row inmates, only prisoners with Wikipedia pages are listed"-stuff could be removed from the article. Secondly, we could add some "This list is incomplete; you can help by adding missing items"-stuff to the beginning of this article. Thirdly, how about, if the death row inmate does not have a Wikipedia article at the time said inmate is added to the list, a source supporting the claim that the person is on death row in Japan has to be cited for said person's entry? @Heart of Destruction: Sounds good to me. Haunted Spy (talk) 12:19, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
