Absolutely bizarre. Vegetables not easily available in the countries of Caucasus? Halva similar to tofu? Nettles? Random mixing of Russian dishes and those of other peoples living in the region? This should be reworked, probably from scratch. Vmenkov (talk) 11:12, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. Completely unscholarly, mixes unrelated cuisines, some not even Caucasian. Armenian cuisine should be moved to the Middle-Eastern Cuisine section, since it is more closely related to Persian, Arabic, and Turkish cuisines.--HayDegha0917 (talk) 02:23, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

The previous comment was made in 2008. Since then, the article was modified significantly. Modern Armenia "is a mountainous country in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia", hence its cuisine also belongs to the scope of this article, even if it is closely related to Middle-Eastern cuisine. The same holds also for e.g. Azerbaijani cuisine. The article indeed needs much work to discuss the common features of the different ethnic cuisines in the Caucasus region and also stress the differences between North Caucasian and South Caucasian ones. The general term "Caucasian cuisine" became common despite the differences between the separate ethnic cuisines, as can be seen by googling for: "Caucasian cuisine" (40000 results), and even more in Russian: "Кавказская кухня" (480000 results). --Off-shell (talk) 15:06, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

Why is it called North Caucasian cuisine instead of Caucasian?
