Reorganization
[edit]I think this list is headed to a point where it would be more useful to organize it into sections by state, with individual cities as subheadings. Thoughts? BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 19:43, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- well that's about 50 changes, but it definitely is the way to go. I'll watch and cheer from the sidelines. And be looking for more additions to your new state format. Interesting to see what you did with a chunk of Pennsylvania. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 03:30, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing so much. I wasn't intending this for anyone but myself. The folks from Arkansas might have a problem, though ... BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 15:53, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
I removed this
[edit]" Is widely considered to be the finest equestrian statue in North America." from the Trinidad, Colorado Kit Carson monument because it really needs to be sourced so that I could find the source and ........................... we talk about it in a civilized manner. This sounds like the Chamber of Commerce in Trinidad to me. Carptrash (talk) 03:34, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- Please, someone, post an image of this "finest equestrian statue in North America." BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 15:53, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
I wish. I have been trying to get there for years, it is not that far away, but it is just far enough off my beaten track that the detour involved is prohibitive. Trinidad was also the home base for Isaac Rapp for a while, adding yet another incitement to get there, but . . .... not today. Carptrash (talk) 15:59, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Time to play
[edit]STUMP THE WIKIPEDIAN.
Okay folks. Does this work by J. Massey Rhind qualify as an equestrian statue?
Because if it does, there are some more.
If it does not . .... well, never mind.
Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 05:42, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- I would vote, Yes. There are some works on this list in which the person is not astride the horse – Washington, in Newark, NJ, Horse Trainer, in San Diego, CA, Cowboy, in Prescott, AZ – but the horse is an important part of the statue. I would prefer to see the interpretation of an equestian statue expanded to these include works, rather than be limited only to a horse & rider.
BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 19:31, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
- So I am going with a YES too. Let's see who else shows up in the next while. Carptrash (talk) 19:35, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Would a statue that includes a mule be considered an equestrian statue? And if so, how about donkey? Carptrash (talk) 02:45, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
