Virtuosos

[edit]

I don't quite follow, why are some of the players stated to be “virtuosos” while most of them aren't, although many of them are the best of best in their particular genre. For example, I don't know any player whose technique of combining bass and melodic lines would be comparable to that of Charlie Hunter, but he is not stated to be a virtuoso. Wouldn't it be better to omit (vague) statements such that someone is a virtuoso in a page consisting of a list of people, since one then tends to conclude that the “virtuoso” players are somehow “better” then the “non-virtuoso” ones? 90.176.211.48 (talk) 00:05, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed and fixed. The list is also heavy on electric players (mostly rock and jazz); I've added a few acoustic players; could use some more, and also some more classical players. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.92.174.105 (talk) 23:21, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
