Nedra Tyre

[edit]

Nedra Tyre wrote mysteries in English, but does not have an en.wikipedia.org entry. She does have one on https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nedra_Tyre where they list her books - titles all in English. What is the correct procedure here? Link to the de.wiki or is there a "translate" way to create the English version? Hotgardener (talk) 16:20, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Birth years for authors

[edit]

I note that some entries have "born yyyy" and some do not. What is the Standard for this (and similar list-type) pages?

reply

Living authors, particularly women, may be sensitive to having their birth year in the public domain. I would suggest that only authors who have died have their birth-death years shown. Normally I would not think the year is necessary at all. Readers could get that info by clicking on the authors wikipage, but I think it is more important to highlight how far back women have been writing. Showing the birth-death years gives an easy scan of history. Hotgardener (talk) 02:00, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Gender bias

[edit]

Why does this even exist? Where is the List of male detective/mystery writers? KillerChihuahua 16:24, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
