Did You Know

Comments[edit]

Hi, here's a few general comments on the prose portion of the article:

  • Just a thought about the first sentence, but you might explain a bit of the timing with the Dutch control and Indonesian independence in a footnote.
  • "The first directors in the country, Heuveldorp and G. Kruger, were of European or mixed descent.[5] The first ethnic Chinese director" Slightly repetitive openings of consecutive sentences here.
  • "Heuveldorp and G. Kruger, were of European or mixed descent" Reading this makes me think it's not 100% known which ethnicity they were. Is that right?
  • Not sure about Heuveldorp. Kruger was reportedly Indo, possibly of German extract based on his name (that German bit is not in sources) — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:53, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Still others, including Albert Balink and Ismail, were journalists by trade. Together, they directed some 100 films, at times working collaboratively" My thinking after reading this is that they co-directed about 100 films, is that it? If not, perhaps "Between them" instead of "Together"?
  • Otherwise prose looks good, I made a few small copyedits. Mark Arsten (talk) 22:38, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
