I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of films based on Hasbro properties's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Disney/Fox merger cancelled Hasbro movies

[edit]

For anyone who doesn't know, it was announced recently, that Disney plans on scrapping a large majority of Fox projects that were in development. While none have been specifically mentioned, someone made a list of movies we can assume are cancelled, which includes Hasbro's Magic the Gathering movie and the Play-Doh movie (possibly the clue remake as well). While it makes sense, initially, to remove these movies (as some people already have) Hasbro's more recent deals (notably the deal they made with Universal back in 2011) have a clause where Hasbro is free to take their movies to other companies (especially ones where they put their own money into developing the movie, or when their production company Allspark is directly working on it) if they choose, this is how Fox ended up getting slated to make the Magic the Gathering movie, from Universal. I feel like the movies in question, at the very least, should be put into a hiatus/limbo section until Hasbro confirms the movies won't be made, considering they are directly working on and financing the movies, and Fox was acting as more of a distributor. =TONKA vs HASBOROUGH

[edit]

It seems to me that there are plenty of films listed here that are not based on Hasboro but on Tonka properties. DoctorHver (talk) 05:36, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
