Coordinates

[edit]

Is it possible to add to the table coordinates for the faults? I respect they may be rather large features, but it's possible the advice at WP:LINEAR might reassure. If you're unfamiliar, {{coord}} it your friend. Thanks --17:40, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

I had considered doing it but difficult to ascertain where their ends points are in many cases - though could go for some midpoint as per advice - could use Irish grid. Geopersona (talk) 18:17, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Midpoint would be good. In general, because they're geographical features, it's always nice to be able to see roughly where they are on a map - which is what {{coord}} gives. The use of the dim: parameter in coord allows a map to be appropriately sized to show the rough extent of the fault. I note also List of geological folds in Great Britain, begging for much the same treatment. I recognise that asking for this is much easier than delivering it. I just thought whilst you had the maps out...thanks --Tagishsimon (talk) 18:28, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Very much agree with your sentiments - if I can find a way of doing this that works (timewise as much as anything else), I'll certainly look to add it. Geopersona (talk) 18:45, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I well understand the time problem ;) --Tagishsimon (talk) 18:51, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
