[edit]The name has been changed at least 5 times over the years, back and forth between "List of governors-general of Australia" and "List of Governors-General of Australia".
Can we settle this once and for all? I note that List of Prime Ministers of Australia uses the upper case style. Can we at least be consistently wrong? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 22:49, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- I don't think it's wrong, but yes, let's be consistent. Capitalisation please. Frickeg (talk) 00:15, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Seeing as nobody has done it yet - changed as per MOS:JOBTITLES Ozzieboy (talk) 08:43, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Moved. Per similar move requests for Canada and New Zealand, there is consensus across the wiki for the lowercasing of these titles. — Amakuru (talk) 10:52, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
List of Governors-General of Australia → List of governors-general of Australia – Plural, so not a proper noun - should be lowercase as discussing the group, not a specific case. See MOS:JOBTITLE for relevant policy. Mauls (talk) 09:13, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. "Governor-General" is capitalised, and this carries through to the standard plural. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 01:10, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
- Support Consistent with MOS:JOBTITLE and majority usage in RS. A Google News search for
"governors general" australia
shows most news sources use lowercase for the plural in running text. Colin M (talk) 21:03, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
