An article devoted to the Governors of Guernsey seems very incomplete not mentioning, whilst listing many famous families, why it was suddenly decided to discontinue the post --- and why they still kept his junior in place.

Some form of secret history too terrible to reveal ? Were the Channel Islanders threatening the Crown ? Or just 19th century modernist madness ? Claverhouse (talk) 23:46, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
