State Registered Places[edit]

I think, there is an issue with this list. Doing an Inherit search for State Registered Places, the search lists only 93 entries, far less than in this list. Inherit lists 422 places as heritage listed in Albany, but only 93 of those are State Registered Places. In it's current form, the list does not meet it's own inclusion criteria, having to be on the State Register. To go through the list and eliminate all 329 non-State Registered Places is a huge task and very time consuming. The other option would just be to rename the it to List of heritage places in the City of Albany or List of heritage places in Albany, akin to List of heritage places in Fremantle. List of places on the State Register of Heritage Places in the City of AlbanyList of heritage places in Albany – The current list has 428 entries but there is only 93 listings on the State Register of Heritage Places for Albany LGA. The remainder must be places that are just heritage listed, not state registered. I propose to rename the article to remove the inclusion criteria it doesn't actually meet and to bring the article in line with other such lists for Western Australia, like List of heritage places in Fremantle. • Support change to "heritage places", oppose removal of City of - as the list is LGA-wide and not locality-wide, that would be misleading. The Drover's Wife (talk) 23:29, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. This does raise a question about other Albanys. Maybe the Americans don't use this terminology.Grahame (talk) 03:07, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Really good point, I didn't think of that! Looking at the disambiguation page, there is quite a lot of Albanys out there. The Western Australia may have to be tagged on the end of it, just like in the parent article. Calistemon (talk) 04:44, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think we don't need to cross that bridge unless another local government called the City of Albany gets its own Wikipedia article, in which case it'll come up there first, and only then do we need to worry about it here. The Drover's Wife (talk) 07:35, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The proposal involves removing "City of".Grahame (talk) 03:14, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My bad. I've altered my !vote accordingly - having the scope of a list focusing on an LGA and then removing mention that that is indeed the scope from the title just serves to confuse readers for no purpose, and not changing that avoids this issue. Comment from the nominator: Following above discussions, to avoid ambiguity, I propose the new title to be changed from List of heritage places in Albany to List of heritage places in the City of Albany — Preceding unsigned comment added by Calistemon (talkcontribs) 00:46, 16 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
