Légion d'honneur

The reference is unreliable. I was not able to find any trace of this award in the March 1914 issues of the "Journal officiel de la République française", where it would have necessarily been published. MehdiCaps (talk) 23:02, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The awarding of the LH to foreign nationals is normally not published in the Journal officiel. He might have received the LH (probably chevalier) as an officer previous to World War I, but he almost certainly received the Grand Cross in later years, as the President of the Turkish Republic. This is purely speculative, and contradicts the date and reason given in the table: 11 March 1914 and "Achievements as Yarbay (Lieutenant Colonel) at the Operations Command of the Mediterranean Regular Forces". The "dubious" mention for this award must therefore remain until legitimate evidence is found. MehdiCaps (talk) 12:02, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
