Was there a name for the city in Kill the Alligator and Run. I remember the town flag but I can't remember if they ever said a name....Coasttocoast 20:40, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Springfield space.jpg

Image:Springfield space.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The image is unnecessary and doesn't provide a good view of Springfield's major landmarks. I'm going to remove it, which'll make it an "orphaned fair use" image. szyslak 10:28, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Someone merged that article with this one, I have undone this for the following reasons:

At this point the information I have provided may seem quite small but I intend to add more businesses to this list as there are heaps of businesses that have appeared on The Simpsons that I intend to add, all will have a reference to at least one episode once done. It is all just finding the time to add all this as what I have written so far took some time. Of course I was hoping others would add to this list since that is supposed to be the idea of the Wikipedia.

Also then there is the issue of the article it was merged into. This article is meant to be about the places seen in the Simpsons as in the towns in the Simpsons placing businesses doesn't fit into this. There is a separate article to do things like the media (TV stations, radio, newspaper) religion (names of churchs etc...) and education (the names of the Springfield schools) so why not a separate page for businesses seen in The Simpsons. I thought there may have been one already but after not finding one I decided to create one. My intentions are to break it into categories such as recurring businesses that appear almost every episode or quite often and once off or seldom seen businesses that are seen in just one episode or just a couple of episodes. I was even thinking of another section for non Springfield businesses that is the ones seen in other cities. Bhowden (talk) 09:11, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Undid merger due to GFDL concerns

I have undone the merger from List of businesses on The Simpsons for now. Since the article is being considered for deletion at the moment, the merged content in this article potentially violates the GNU Free Documentation License because if the debate ends in deletion, the edit history of the original article will not be preserved here. Let's discuss any potential merger at the AFD and wait for it to conclude before merging. szyslak 09:49, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

New Location?

Should Costington's Department Store be added to this list? Jursey14 (talk) 02:58, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Aztec Theater

Is there a joke to the name of this location that I'm not getting? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 00:48, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Merge

I have proposed that Moe's Tavern and the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant articles be merged here. Neither are notable enough for their own page and have no real world perspectives. Thoughts? CTJF83Talk 23:56, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Support. I doubt that we can find any real world information for these two articles. It is therefore better to cut the cruft and merge them into this list. --Maitch (talk) 00:04, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Oppose- I do think there is enough information to keep the articles. Also, they are both well known places on the show, with lots of action and stories taking place there. Rhino131 (talk) 00:21, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
  • So can you give an example of where to find this real world information? --Maitch (talk) 00:26, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Support - per above. Gran2 19:45, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Monstro Mart

Theres no paragraph about the supermarket monstro mart seen in Homer And Apu. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.144.238.17 (talk) 15:16, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

If it is only in one episode, it isn't notable enough to list. CTJF83Talk 15:44, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Hanford?

Why would anyone think the Springfield power plant is modeled on Hanford? Hanford doesn't have cooling towers and isn't used to generate electricity. The Simpsons plant has very prominent cooling towers and is clearly all about electricity. You would have to be seriously ignorant of even what Hanford looked like to think it was a model for this... --140.247.10.217 (talk) 01:48, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

CTJF83's revert

All information contained in the stuff he reverted was fine, so I undid his edit Purplebackpack89 (Notes Taken) (Locker) 23:24, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
