Comments[edit]

I could not find a well sourced and accurate list of the longest rivers in Minnesota, so I created this article. I used the USGS GNIS for the lengths of the streams so that lenghts were consistent. I made the columns sortable, so the streams can be viewed by length, name, or county of the mouth or source location. Some sources, like Minnesota fun facts, have inaccurate length data. If someone has or could make a map of these streams, that would be great. I included the watershed and topo map of Minnesota. I am trying to improve the content on the articles on each of the streams to make sure they have Infobox river and accurate information.

Question about lengths[edit]

I could not find consistent references for the Two River (Mississippi River tributary), Two Rivers (Red River of the North tributary), or the Leech Lake River to show that their lengths were greater than 30 miles, despite the Fun Facts showing longer lengths.

Size of Water Basins[edit]

I added the size of the Water Basins for major watersheds. The data is referenced in the individual articles on each river. Most of the other rivers do not have readily available information on the size of the watersheds. I also added thee elevations at the mouth of each river, since it is readily available in the GNIS USGS database. I see that the two other U.S. states that have lists of longest streams have used Google Earth to calculate the elevation of the sources. I don't have Google Earth running on my computer, currently. -- Talk to G Moore 21:40, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sections[edit]

I combined the first two sections and encountered some issues with being able to edit this article in my browser. I am trying to fix it now. -- Talk to G Moore 15:28, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Problem fixed. It was the Chrome Browser, which slows down when editing large tables in WikiPedia. Switched to Firefox. -- Talk to G Moore 21:58, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Table update[edit]

I updated the table per the peer review guidance. Thank you for all the suggestions. I put the † with the stream length order in column one. I separated the km and miles and meter and feet columns. I rearranged the order of the columns to be more logical. -- Talk to G Moore 16:41, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
