EP Groups[edit]

Thank you to those editors who completed the list of MEPs. When I started adding names, I deliberately left the EP Group column blank, as I thought entries now would fall foul of WP:FUTURE for two reasons:

  1. It can reasonably be assumed that most of the EP Groups will not change from the previous parliament. But the Brexit Party will not be part of the Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy group, which is now defunct: political groups of the European Parliament have to include members from at least seven states, and parties of the former EFDD only returned MEPs in three countries.
  2. There is the theoretical possibility that the UK could leave the EU before the new MEPs take their seats, in which case none of them would belong to any European Parliament group at all.

Is it better to remove this column altogether for the time being? Or just take out the EFDD entries? Opera hat (talk) 00:22, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Opera hat I would have said swap the EFDD entries for "unknown" or "to be confirmed" and leave it at that. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 15:40, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Opera hat Actually looking at Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy#9th European Parliament, 2019 it states that Brexit Party is part of the EFDD and I have added a ref there to that effect. What makes you think the EFDD is defunct? --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 16:11, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The Europe Elects site describes the Brexit Party as "unaffiliated". Opera hat (talk) 19:38, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I see that EFDD's website shows its president as "Nigel Farage / EFDD Group | The Brexit Party". Does this mean that the Brexit Party is affiliated with the EFDD group, or is it likely to change? Krubo (talk) 14:36, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The list of MEPs on EFDD's website is from the 8th EU Parliament (includes Paul Nuttall, not Ann Widdecombe etc). The most recent thing I've seen is that the Brexit Party are in talks about joining a group/creating a new one. As The Vintage Feminist recommended, I agree to leave EFDD as "unknown" or "to be confirmed" until announced. CarlDurose (talk) 19:41, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
References to the EFDD have now been removed from the List of members of the European Parliament, 2019–2024 article. Opera hat (talk) 15:12, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I wanna know why someone is removing the site I put up, the clear reason for MEP louis Stedman-Bryce who he himself said on twitter. Greenparties1 (talk) 23:56, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
