I appreciate work done regarding this topic. However, I would like to include pictures of 23 mm rifle created by IS, able to destroy armour at few kilometers. And they have also effectively used its smaller version as a medium sized sniper weapon system — Preceding unsigned comment added by MMXVI (talkcontribs) 03:42, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

yes. and on a related topic, IS have self-made many artillery rockets (like ones made and used by Palestinian groups) which they commonly use to shell areas, someone could find some pictures of these and add them and also, there is a well known civilian dump truck which has been converted into a GRAD rocket launcher by IS which could be added

Unsourced claims[edit]

I removed most of the unsourced claims out of concern that this article may serve propagandistic purposes. Some of the remaining sourcing is still poor. --Sammy1339 (talk) 21:57, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

And you seen to have done an excellent job! therightplanet.com is totally not reliable though I'd say - it's a self-proclaimed right-wing blog written by one guy with no oversight! He has probably got most of those images for the article from other news sources however, so it shouldn't be too hard to switch them out. Nikthestunned 09:19, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Sammy. It's worth noting that this entire article is a transplant of material that was at one point removed from the Military activities of ISIL by consensus because of similar concerns that caused you to trim the content here. I personally question what value such an index can have in providing an encyclopedic understanding of ISIS, and the general consensus at the afore-mentioned article was that this was military fetishism at best and potentially a platform from which the net-savvy ISIS might be/could try to promote its military strength to attract radicals. And Nik's comments point out yet another potential source of bias: those who want to aggrandize the organization's reach for altogether different political purposes. Had we been on our game when this went up, we could have deleted it out of hand on the basis of the previous RfC's. But at this point, if we are going to remove it, it would need to be via AfD. Still, worth considering. There's nothing in this table necessary to provide or augment an encyclopedic description of the group or its activities that couldn't be reduced to a prose summary paragraph in one of our other articles on the group. Can someone add the Chart 2 "Top manufacturing countries of weapons documented in Iraq and Syria"? It is a study carried out by CAIR and can be found here: http://www.conflictarm.com/download-file/?report_id=2568&file_id=2574 2A02:8109:9DC0:7AA8:DD9D:8F77:8EA4:43D2 (talk) 20:14, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A Source used on this page comes from such a extremist website i think it disqualifies it's usefulness to the community[edit]

Hello Wikipedians!

one specific source used here comes from a extremist website called thegatesofvienna/[48] which is extremely Islamophobic and racist that it i feel it's usefulness as a source should be placed into question, and i think it should be removed. ThatGuyNamedSeth (talk) 16:48, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
