2022 and 2023 figures[edit]

I respectfully think we should separate 2022 and 2023 figures. Otherwise this table could give a very confusing and misleading version of the attendnce. SiefkinDR (talk) 13:46, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Detroit Institute of Arts[edit]

I believe that the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) had around "540,000 visitors in 2008". (see http://www.modeldmedia.com/inthenews/diaattendance16308.aspx)

I'm not sure why this wouldn't be included, as it's one of the largest museums in the USA.

I suppose it depends on the criterion, as "annual attendance for the DIA averages about 350,000 a year" (DIA.org).

Is this page, then, peak attendance or average attendance (and if so, over what period of time?). This should be specified. As well, I'm not sure 2010 figures have been released by the DIA. Does this exclude them from this article?

I suppose my main point boils down to: Does one periodical really have the ability to state that they're sure of the "100 most visited art museums in the world"? There should be multiple sources to be scientifically credible (not that that is necessarily the standard this page is held to).

misprint[edit]

the line 93 Museo centrale del Risorgimento Rome Italy 698,850 seems to be equal to 95 Complesso del Vittoriano Rome Italy 689,850 both related links give the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altare_della_Patria. Does it make sense to remove one of this? " – Gbrusco (talk) 15:03, 14 April 2014 (GMT+1)
