Sydney News Chopper crash

[edit]

Just came across this article and seems there is no mention of a news chopper that crashed in Sydney, Australia. I think in the 1960s-early 1970s it came down in area south of Goulburn Street. Can't get it closer than that. I do recall that filming continued as it went in, and has been shown on TV. Think it may have been a 'Bell' chopper with the 'bubble' type cockpit. --220.101.28.25 (talk) 07:11, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think I found it. A news chopper crashed while filming a documentary on December 10, 1966. I've added it to the accidents occurring during non news gathering section. Thanks for the information. Shinerunner (talk) 23:58, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
After some thinking, I moved the entry to the news gathering section.Shinerunner (talk) 13:31, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject USA?

[edit]

This article is within the scope of WikiProject United States, but covers world-wide crashes. Should that be removed? 83.70.170.48 (talk) 08:55, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I've removed the banner. Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû (blah?) 23:49, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Channel 7 (Australian) - Helicopter crash near Sydney, June 1982

[edit]

I've just found an article which mentions a third incident involving a news helicopter in Australia in 1982. There does not seem to have been an official report into the incident and Google News does not seem to have any more information beyond the article in which it is mentioned.

Might be a worthwhile candidate for offline research.

Accidents occurring outside news-gathering activities

[edit]

Not sure that these accidents are particularly notable to news gathering and would suggest the table is removed. MilborneOne (talk) 13:59, 2 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
