Half done I've added PagSeguro, which is one of the two UOL payment sites that has an article. UOL seems to have many sites and services unrelated to online payment, so it doesn't seem like a good match. If BoaComp has an article, it could be added as well. The PagSeguro article specifically mentions only Brazil as a location, not any of the other countries mentioned. Grayfell (talk) 21:27, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

Incompleteness/Health Warning

This article needs an "Health Warning" for Incompleteness.

As it article is locked as "semi-protected", with the rule that all entries need must refer to an existing Wikipedia article, it is a very incomplete list. The "notability" of the entries is therefore suspect, and this needs to be made clear at the head of the list (including the rules for inclusion).

--193.35.254.234 (talk) 11:29, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

On the contrary - as the list only includes companies with Wikipedia articles, they must at least have met the general notability guidelines so are "notable" in Wikipedia's terms.
The reason the article was semi-protected was to exclude the non-notable providers that were repeatedly being added. - Arjayay (talk) 12:29, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

Amend Atos to Worldline

Please could you amend Atos to become Worldline, and add the UK as an additional location. Atos carved out the part of the business that process transactions in 2014 as per this press release[1]

As Worldline are part of the Atos group, the Atos Wiki page contains the relevant information on the company

Worldline are one of Europes largest PSP, and it was carved out of Atos a few years ago. The source URL can be set as the homepage [2]

To confirm:

Atos → Worldline.

Location → UK, France

Kind regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ghesp (talk • contribs) 14:41, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

We have a problem as Worldline does not have a Wikipedia article to link to, which is the primary inclusion requirement for this list, as stated at the top of the edit page:-
"Please don't add Service Providers here that don't have their own separate articles (and thus, are notable as per the website notability guidelines)".
Furthermore, if you are saying that Atos is no longer an online payment service provider, then that should be removed from the list. I think the best way would be to write a Worldline article, so that could be linked to, but, unfortunately, I am too busy to undertake that myself. - Arjayay (talk) 09:33, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi Arjayay,

I will look into making the relevant page at some point if I have those rights. For now, Worldline is a subsidiary of Atos so it should be left as is for the time being - Ghesp (talk) 12:20, 19 October 2016 (UTC)

The URL is in my original request. Worldline[2] Also, please could you add MoTo to the list of platforms Thanks GhWL (talk) 09:08, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

To editor GhWL: Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. This alteration was reverted and Atos has been restored to the list. Looks like the deleted article, Worldline (company), needs to build and foster more notability. If the company has changed its name from Atos to Worldline, and their website just hasn't yet caught up with the name change, then more reliable sources will be needed, and the Atos article should be renamed to Worldline.  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  18:50, 21 May 2017 (UTC)

Add CCAvenue in the list of online payment service providers - Notability reference is from Wikipedia's page on Infibeam. 122.182.6.210 (talk) 11:44, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Not done: Additions need an article of their own to demonstrate notability. The statement that CCAvenue is one of the largest payment platforms in India at Infibeam is unsourced, but if true it should be possible to draft an article on CCAvenue with appropriate citations. —Nizolan (talk · c.) 22:04, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

Recurly -- please add

Please note Recurly is a common, trusted and reputable payment system, with thousands of companies it serves. So, IMHO it deserves to be in this list. 19:50, 24 July 2019 (UTC) Naki (talk) 19:50, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Name: MakeCommerce Platform: Online, Mobile Location: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania

thank you

Not done as neither Maksekeskus nor MakeCommerce have articles on the English Wikipedia, which, as repeatedly explained above, is one of the inclusion criteria - Arjayay (talk) 10:00, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

Another payment gateway

I have come across another payment gateway that is not listed here it has been online since 2016 it should be listed since it operates worldwide except in china, bahamas The gateway is called “vapulus” Slaider82 (talk) 13:53, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Is there currently a Wikipedia article on the gateway? If not it should not be listed.--VVikingTalkEdits 13:58, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

Not done: as you have not requested a change.
Please request your change in the form "Please replace XXX with YYY" or "Please add ZZZ between PPP and QQQ".
Please also note that any name proposed for addition to this list, MUST already have its own article. - Arjayay (talk) 12:15, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

Thank you, sorry I realise now that my format was wrong. Please add the following businesses to the table. They all have wikipedia articles already.

Please add SumUp between Square and Tencent. Their platform is POS and Mobile. Their location is United Kingdom Please add Pagamentos between OFX and Pagseguro. Their platform is POS. Their location is Brazil Please add M-Pesa between MPay and Neteller. Their platform is Mobile. Their location is Kenya, Tanzania, Afghanistan, Albania, South Africa, India, Romania

Partly done: Added M-Pesa only. It clearly meets the list inclusion requirements. SumUp has an article but it is unclear from the article if it is currently an active platform. Pagamentos is actually at Stone Pagamentos, an article of doubtful notability created by a now-blocked undisclosed paid editor. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 17:08, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Currencycloud and Payment Rails

@Arjayay: Hello, my contribution adding Currencycloud and Payment Rails was reverted (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_online_payment_service_providers&type=revision&diff=1017918095&oldid=1017912768) because they don't have an article but they are notable as you can see on the 2 links I added. I did not notice the comment "ONLY ADD A PROVIDER TO THIS LIST IF THEY ALREADY HAVE AN ARTICLE IN THE ENGLISH WIKIPEDIA" and don't have time to create an article. Since the links I added shows that the companies are notable, we could make an exception and keep the contribution? --Baptx (talk) 12:55, 15 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi Baptx, in a word, no. That has long been the inclusion criteria on this page, and most similar list pages, albeit that it is regularly ignored by people trying top promote one company or another. This page was indefinitely semi-protected in March 2014, because of such "bad list entries". Please also see the multiple, refused, requests above and in the archives. Any "exceptions" would just invite a torrent of similar claims. - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 13:00, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
