What meets your criteria for being "famous," is this merely a list of nationally known celebrities or are we also including people of specific local note. Also, where are the notable Physicists and researchers that have achieved fame through their work at Jefferson Lab.

Bob Saget?

[edit]

Urm... it says that Bob Saget was from Norfolk... but it says he was born in Pennslyvania on his page.... O_o

He was, but he spent much of his childhood in Norfolk. (BTW, I'm the one that added him). The page says "born OR have lived in" the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area. So he qualifies.

BTW, I didn't know this area was home to so many comics (Saget, Wanda Sykes, Ratatouille's Patton Oswalt). WAVY 10 20:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Multi-city people

[edit]

Is there, or should there be, a standard way of listing people from more than one city? Someone just added Plaxico Burress under Virginia Beach; he was previously listed under Norfolk. Apparently he was born in a Norfolk hospital but grew up in VB, so the latter seems "right" somehow.

David Wright is also double-entered under Chesapeake and Norfolk. This seems like another similar case, though it's a little more complicated since Wright's dad is a Norfolk deputy police chief. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rklear (talkcontribs) 19:44, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Victor Wooten is from Newport News (he went to Denbigh High). He is not from Hampton. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.197.164.58 (talk) 01:39, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missing historical figures

[edit]

Douglas McArthur Pochahontas/Rebecca Rolfe Booker T. Washington

Anyone know why these guys (amongst others) are missing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.162.0.46 (talk) 19:56, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Viable?

[edit]

Is this a viable list? The content is mostly unreferenced. Even if it were repaired, "born or have lived in" seems a very indiscriminate qualification for inclusion, resulting in a list that's really not of any real value. Should this list be deleted? -- Mikeblas (talk) 18:34, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
