United Kingdom

[edit]

Is the UK properly characterised as a two-party system? While first-past-the-post does tend to impose a two-party structure in Westminster, the Lib Dems are a viable third party in Parliament, and the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly and Northern Ireland Assembly certainly aren't a two-horse Tory-Labour races.
