The number of members

[edit]

It would be useful (for the innocent reader) to see stated in the text, or at the bottom of the table of parties, the total number of members in each parliamentary or executive body: the Federal Council, Council of States, and National Council. Yellowdesk 01:58, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Political party membership --> update needed

[edit]

The membership numbers date from 2011, I believe. They should be updated. Where can I go to find more recent estimates for all the parties? --1990'sguy (talk) 02:20, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The diagram of the left-right, liberal-conservative makes no sense.

[edit]

It has multiple very conservative parties near the top on the "liberal" value. Keskival (talk) 00:08, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It makes plenty of sense to me -- the top-bottom scale is for social issues (which I presume includes things such as immigration and EU integration), and the FDP, BDP, and CVP are rightly shown as being more liberal. The left-right axis is for economic issues, and those same parties are rightly being shown as right-of-center.
Also, the graph shows the party positions both in the late 1980s and early 2010s, which explains why the SVP is shown once in that area. --1990'sguy (talk) 00:26, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Descriptions

[edit]

It's curious how, currently, there's a couple of far-left parties, but despite the SVP being literally aligned with fascists in WWII it's somehow merely right-wing... 92.18.127.206 (talk) 09:13, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
