merger[edit]

I for one am against the merger. It will simply kill this page as nearly all these players already have a record on the handheld list page. The reason I created this page is because Wi-Fi enabled players are already notable and growing. They have features like GPS, web browsing, etc that you won't find mentioned on a PMP list page, and as well features unique to them not found on the handheld list which are 90% smartphones. On-demand features? Web radio/TV? PC sync? Or web browser? They aren't unique features to PMPs. Smartphones, and even recent mobile phones have those features now. Granted, the "player to player" is sort-of unique, if you don't count sending songs through email or seomthing, but that's only an 'exclusive' Zune feature. --PenaltyKillahJw21 16:36, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you read correctly I never claimed them to be features exclusive to PMPs, I expressed that they are features not found in the average PMP. Certainly many internet enabled devices can do these things outside the PMP spectrum, however, on a list of laptops for example, these things like Web Radio and web browser would not be very important as they are among the many things a laptop can do. On a PMP however, as a media player, these features are more significant. In another words, they won't be found on a non-WiFi player, and its not worth putting on a list of overall wi-fi handhelds mainly dominated by smartphones.
