Is it really necessary to have this as a separate article? All of this information is listed on the Adult Swim article and that one is certainly not large enough to warrant this to be needed. If or when that article becomes large enough, then the list should be moved here, but it is completely unnecessary to have a copy. --Kamasutra 21:25, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Possible Inaccuracies

Adult Swim first aired on September 2, 2001 (date from Adult Swim main article). I double checked the date and it was a Saturday. I believe that I in fact viewed this first airing. The first show was aired on that date was Yu Yu Hakusho. Followed by Pilot Candidate. I can not remember the rest of the schedule. But because of this I believe the years are wrong for those two shows and so is the statement proclaiming Cowboy Bebop to be Adult Swim's first anime

What? You should triple check because September 2, 2001 was a Sunday. That's not what happened at all. The schedule looked like this:
10 PM - Home Movies
10:30 PM - The Brak Show
10:45 PM - The Brak Show
11 PM - Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law
11:15 PM - Sealab 2021
11:30 PM - Space Ghost Coast to Coast

Samurai Champloo's TV rating

Just reassuring the fact that Samurai Champloo is rated TV-14 every single week it is on the air (sometimes with an L, S or V, or all three). Yes it's edited for content, which so far has only been language and nudity, but none of the violence has been edited. Actually, maybe if we can't settle this, we should just remove the ratings column. Keep the ratings column. This list shows the shows actual rating, which is TV-MA. It does not show the adult swim ratings. It is like this so it is not confused, but the shows itself uncut is TV-MA.

If someone does not stop changing the Samurai Champloo rating to TV-14 they WILL be expelled. I MEAN IT> STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we keep it as TV-14, people might get confused and therefore may be inaccurate. For example, they might think the DVD is TV-14. In fact, why don't we just DELETE the ratings column to avoid frustration and confusion? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.224.84.185 (talk • contribs).

First, please sign your comments on talk pages with ~~~~.
Secondly, why would someone think the DVD is TV-14 when the article isn't about the DVDs? Changing it to TV-MA may cause people to think that it actually airs with a TV-MA rating on Adult Swim, which is not the case. Remember, Wikipedia is about facts.
Third, the ratings column is valuable information about the history of the shows on Adult Swim. It needs better sourcing, as do most things (unfortunately) on Wikipedia, but that does not mean it should disappear because of a single point of contention. —TangentCube /c /t  22:41, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Third opinion

I won't delete the plea posted on Wikipedia:Third opinion so that someone else might weigh in, because my opinion on this topic may not be worth much.

In my opinion, the ratings column has little value. It elicits a "so what?" response within me. And it seems to be a maintenance burden. I don't care much for Wikipedia articles consisting of lists anyway, but if you must make a list, the list should have a timeless quality (i.e. not subject to frequent changes).

Wouldn't it be sufficient to say in the article that programs shown when young children are likely to watch TV carry a TV-G or TV-PG rating, whereas the late shows are typically TV-14 or TV-MA? Every single program in this list appears to be linked to an article dedicated to that program; I say let those articles describe how mature the audiences are expected to be, and delete the ratings column from this article. -Amatulic 20:27, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Fourth opinion: I agree with Amatulic above. Although I doubt whether this article would make it through a deletion process (wherein lies its encyclopedic value, really?), it does exist now. However, lists should be of timeless value: avoid making lists that change all too frequently. But if it has to exist, just remove the ratings - they are redundant.

Actual date/time when programming begins

I just want to mention the midnight technicality in regards to air times. For example, while Bleach may premiere technically on Sunday, September 10th, at 12:00AM EDT (or PDT) (0:00), for argument's sake, it's on Saturday midnight, due to the block starting at 11:00 AM. Shouldn't AS's license for Lupin have expired by now? I heard about it being expired from someone on Toonzone, but since it's a forum, it's not really a reliable source.-Lord Lonic

A quick glance at the schedule on adultswim.com shows it's scheduled to air Saturdays after Paranoia Agent ends, so maybe they renewed it, if it was about to expire in the first place. —TangentCube /c /t  18:39, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Venture Bros Season 3 Inaccurate?

I just read this over at Jackson Publick's LiveJournal, posted on March 8th, and wanted to make sure I was in the right before changing the article: "you won't be seeing any new episodes until probably this time next year, since we won't start getting them back from Korea until around the first of the year or so."

If that's true, shouldn't it read that Season 3 of Venture Bros starts in Spring '08, or is this source already obsolete? --TruPhan 19:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Unless someone can find a reliable source that verifies that Korgoth was canceled, it should stay removed from this article. Just because adult swim hasn't announced anything does not mean that it has been canceled. For example, The Boondocks has more than a year's difference between the first season and the second, due to delays. dposse 00:01, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Having "Too bad this is not a full series" written around the Korgoth listing is in no way an official announcement that this show has not been picked up. Why would Adult Swim even bother playing this pilot if they had no interest in developing it? This show should stay in the "Pilots of unknown status" section unless a reliable source is stated.Chelydramat 18:56, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Holy shit. You must be in deep denial. There won't be any official announcement because networks don't officially announce which one of their pilots don't get picked up. They just say what pilots are picked up, and the ones not mentioned are not picked up unless they move to another network. Also, Adult Swim is always playing pilots that don't get developed. Every pilot under the "Failed Pilots" section was played on the air, and even the other two in "unknown status" are still up in the air. If you want you can email Aaron Springer (look up the registration info on his domain name, funtowne.com), but it sounds like even that won't be a reliable source. --Tv's emory 19:55, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Futurama ending?

The Adult Swim schedule reads that Futurama will end after a marathon and replaced with Family Guy - an arrow pointing to the last showing of Futurama points from a few sentences saying "Goodbye Futurama. We'll miss you. Don't forget about all the good times we had. Like when we drank too much peach schnapps and threw up at your birthday party. Sorry. )=". The last episode airs on 11:30, Dec. 31. Second Season of The Boondocks?

It was stated that The Boondocks' second season would consist of 20 episodes. However, it says in the article that the season ended after only 13 episodes and 2 weren't shown. That still makes 15 episodes so there should still be 5 more episodes left in the season. -- AugustWinterman 14:04, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

King of the Hill not run in its entirety!

Episodes 1-5 and the whole of Seasons 3 and 4 (except for a few holdovers are not being aired! What the hell is going on over there at Adult Swim?

Witchblade?

It says the anime Witchblade will begin airing on this channel. Is that true? I haven't heard that. ANN did not report it( all they have is some small artilce from over 2 years ago(almost 3) saying Funimation was trying to get it on Adult Swim, http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2006-06-05/witchblade-acquired-positioned-for-adult-swim, it appears they went with IFC instead) and I can't find it on the adult swim schedule ( http://www.adultswim.com/schedule/onair.html ). Does anyone have even the SLIGHTEST bit of information reguarding this show? Much like 2008's The Rising Son, this show is not aired on [adult swim] video, nor is it even listed on the [adult swim] website. The only information I can find on this show is it's schedule listings. Frankenhole

I see one of the task force members has concerns about using this for a source. Albeit I didn't hear about this until today (no wonder, it's related to an NBC sitcom). However, it's not an anonymously posted rumor but an interview of Dino Stamatopoulos. True, more secondary sources would be preferable, but until that show hits the air there's little out there. Who keeps changing the Super Milk Chan Show?

The show is NOT TV-PG-TV-14. It is TV-MA. Not only did this page say that for years, the official listings, including iTunes say it too! Now, this is a JAPANESE COMEDY, and a pretty edgy one at that. STOP CHANGING IT!!!!!
