I have integrated the regional list into the full list as it was difficult to work out which were truly just regional organizations. Hope this is OK. Lifeartist 10:13, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of psychology organizations → ? – Every entry on this List of psychology organizations point to either an association or society, e.g. American Psychological Society or American Psychological Association. It would be far clearer to name it that way. "Organisations" is ambiguous as one might expect it might include psychological consulting organisations but based on the current entries on the list and inbound links to this page it would be out of scope. There may be a few counter-examples on this list but these items should probably be removed for focus. Request move/rename List of psychology organizations to List of psychology association and societies. Notgain (talk) 02:41, 23 July 2019 (UTC) Notgain (talk) 02:41, 23 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose: Except that at least a handful are called "Academy," not "Association" or "Society." And there's also the "Australian Psychology Accreditation Council", "The Behavior Analyst Certification Board," the "B.F. Skinner Foundation," and "Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies." And that's all found in just in A through C. It's far more than a handful of counter-examples. I actually was curious, so I pulled it all into Excel and did some sorting; about a 1/3 each are using "Association," "Society" or something else. And there isn't a justification for removing 1/3 of the instances to make the list adhere to the terms "Association" or "Society."
I don't think there's anything unclear in the generalized use of Organizations for the list. The terms "Association" and "Society" are every bit as ambiguous, in the way you're describing, given there is no set term or standard for how groups related to psychology are titled.
