To do[edit]

  • Refs for Elsenham, Harlow Mill/Town, Ingatestone and Prittlewell opening dates
  • Fill opening dates for Cressing, Great Chesterford and White Notley
  • Expand lead
  • Add footnotes where appropriate for reopenings etc
  • add refs for operators (route maps)

Notes...[edit]

Elsenham, Kelvedon, Great Chesterford, Ingatestone, Marks Tey and Witham all had stations by 1848. A station opened in Harlow in 1841, but unsure which one. The railway passed through Roydon parish in 1848, but no mention of a station at that point. 1841 station in Harlow resolved - Harlow Mill. Harlow Town was originally Burnt Mill, and was open by 1848, but no firm date as yet. Kelvedon and Marks Key are refed and dated.

gT Chesterford - railway was there by 1845 - see http://www.iln.org.uk/iln_years/year/1845.htm (Aug 9th 'Lamentable Accident on the Northern and Eastern Railway at Chesterford'.
