Proposed merge / reduction[edit]

This page is hopelessly incomplete, inevitably so (were it anywhere close to complete it would be very very long). Aside: Rowing clubs on the River Wear does look fairly complete. I don't see the point in attempting to list them all. And as was pointed out at the AFD, University rowing (UK)#University_boat_clubs is better (well I agree). So... I was wondering if we could reduce this page just to examples, and probably merge with List of rowing blades - School and university - also, I think doomed to incompleteness. The national ones are completeable, though William M. Connolley (talk) 19:07, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

asking for technical help in how to complete the list with some Belgian club blades / oars colours[edit]

I am not a native english speaker, but I try to add some Belgian rowing oar blade motives and colours. have no idea how to do this. can you help I was starting with the one of Royal Club Nautique de Gand, the first foreign Grand Challenge Cup winner ever --Vingerhoet (talk) 13:59, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure that your English is better than either my Flemish or my French. To display the Club Gent blade, you would need to upload an image to Wikipedia. For your friends and rivals at Sport Gent on the other side of the Watersportbaan, they have the image at File:500px_KRSG_Rowing-Blade.png, and on Wikimedia Commons at Commons:File:500px_KRSG_Rowing-Blade.png. (I believe from Talk:List_of_rowing_blades that the preference now is to upload them to Commons.) I am not an expert at either producing pictures or uploading them, but there is advice at WP:Images. When you upload the image you will need to be careful to comply with the section WP:Images#Uploading images, and with WP:Uploading images, as if an image doesn't have the right copyright statement it will soon be deleted. If you want to produce your own, there is a template at Commons:File:Rowing Blade Template.svg. I hope that may help you a little. - David Biddulph (talk) 14:43, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
