Longo nos needed

[edit]

While Longo's schema has indeed mostly been superseded, there nevetheless remain many, many recordings, scores etc etc that use the Longo numbers. We need this article to be put into sortable tabular format, with the K, L and P numbers all provided. Just like the List of compositions by Antonín Dvořák. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 12:58, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved now. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 12:06, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion Sonata K50 corresponds to L440 and not to L144 as shown in the page. I think that the shown P number (440) may be wrong too. G. Conti - Italy - 22 Oct 2013 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.20.233.78 (talk) 10:07, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OCR typos

[edit]

In the Longo column there are many S characters that should be 5. I suspect there could be other errors. Encyclopedant (talk) 19:12, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is probably not an error. The original Longo edition only had 500 Scarlatti sonatas, with 45 additional sonatas in a Supplemental Volume marked "L. S1" to "L. S45". StewartIM (talk) 15:32, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion: Alternate catalog numbers for K. 50

[edit]

According to the current article, K. 50 is also cataloged as P. 440 and L. 144. However, based on original research, this appears to be a mistake - the correct categorization should be as L. 440 and P. 144.

Evidence:

  • There are two L. 144s in the catalog, and no L. 440s. Similarly, there is no entry for P. 144 (there appears to be no P. 440).
  • The omnibus edition Opere complete per clavicembalo by Longo (author of the L. catalog) lists this sonata as no. 440 - I compared the sheet music on IMSLP to the music for K. 50, and they appear identical.

Catalogs on the internet seem split - some use L. 440 and P. 144, but some use P. 440 and L. 144. Therefore, I am hesitant to update the list before further discussion. StewartIM (talk) 19:35, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Based on Kirkpatrick's official catalog, L. 440 is the correct catalog number. I have corrected the table accordingly. Related discussion can be found here: https://imslp.org/index.php?title=Special:WikiForum&thread=26498 StewartIM (talk) 00:35, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To add to article

To add to this article: years of composition (or approximate years of composition) for each piece. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 18:58, 23 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Audio files on the wrong row from K204b

[edit]

K204 is split in two rows (K204a and K204b), but there is only one K204 audio file. Because of this, the file for K205 is on the K204b row, the file for K206 is on the K205 row and so on. I tried to fix this, but editing this from the text editor is tricky without writing a script. I tried the visual editor but there doesn't seem to be a way to add a single cell between the audio file on the K204b row to shift all the audio files one row down. I added a whole row between K204a and K204b, and cut and pasted all the rows from K204b to K555 (excluding the last column with the audio file) one row up, and while that seemed to work initially, I wasn't able to switch back to the text editor to confirm and I got errors while trying to save the changed. I tried a few more things but I had to give up. I would appreciate if someone could fix this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:B07:2E5:ECA9:5804:A5BB:5731:C3A0 (talk) 03:46, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mistakes in the Pestelli catalogue

[edit]

I found here 23 different mistakes in the Pestelli catalogue and have made the corresponding corrections. 82.173.133.70 (talk) 15:57, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Trouble with mobile view

[edit]

I wonder if anyone else has trouble loading this article using a mobile browser. I visited the page in Safari on my iPhone and it reloaded automatically several times before displaying an error message, to the effect that a problem had occurred repeatedly. I also wonder if this might have something to do with the aggregate size of the unusually many recordings included on the page. SaryaniPaschtorr (talk) 17:31, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
