[edit]I think the links shouldn't be included in light of the manual of style. E_dog95' Hi ' 03:11, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I think this is a job I'll tackle. It looks like there's just one source for most of these items. We can just list the source in its own section instead of linking individual items. E_dog95' Hi ' 03:45, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Proposal to add Sails and Conning Tower display sites to the list
[edit]All - I like to expand this list to include the many sites with conning tower and sail displays, and re-title it to List of submarine museums and displays JMOprof (talk) 15:43, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- More than 10 years later... I too have noticed some "museums" which consist of just a conning tower or the like from a submarine, or just the bow and the bridge of a ship ... it seems to me that these should be included in the list of submarine museums or list of other museum ships. Like the portion of a S. Korean warship that was retrieved to make a memorial site, after it was sunk by N. Korea. Probably not requiring a change of name of the article, but rather just a statement in the lede explaining that partial submarines / ships, which make up a substantial museum, are to be included. Comments? --Doncram (talk, contribs) 04:33, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

UK table
[edit]I don't think the conversion of the UK list to a table is an improvement. This is supposed to be a list of museums, not submarines. The new format is not consistent with the rest of the article. It has too much detail and takes up too much space. Kendall-K1 (talk) 15:37, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Also the ship names got corrupted in the conversion; they should be italicized. See WP:SHIPNAME. Kendall-K1 (talk) 16:33, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
@Applekle: I guess you don't care to discuss this? Could you at least please take care of the ship names? Kendall-K1 (talk) 18:12, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Hi, sorry I didn't see this earlier. I have reformatted the tables and reduced the information, reducing their sizes. I hope this addresses your concerns. Applekle (talk) 22:17, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
proposal to move deep submersion vehicles from List of museum ships to here
[edit]Please see Talk:List of museum ships#Move deep submergence vehicles to separate list on museum submarines? for proposal that would affect this page. --Doncram (talk, contribs) 04:21, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- That's a good idea, and there doesn't seem to be any disagreement on the museum ships page. Applekle (talk) 22:12, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
proposal to add column for images, and other column changes?
[edit]Having helped develop List of museum ships and List of museum ships in North America a lot in recent months, including adding photos, it seems to me that this list also would be greatly improved by adding an image for each item. I expect that images are available for almost all, as is proving the to be the case for other museum ships, and wherever one is not available I think that it is good to present a blank space, which serves as an implicit request.
Also I think the columns here might be defined differently. Comments/suggestions would be welcomed. --Doncram (talk, contribs) 04:28, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- I think it is the future of this page, but the work required is not insignificant. It is how the page in other languages is laid out which will help when finding photos.
- As for columns, the Location column on List of museum ships is superior. The "Origin" column however is vague and personally I prefer the nationality column, but I'm open for discussion on how to improve it. Applekle (talk) 22:34, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
- I've started on this project, if people have thoughts please comment. I'm going to first focus on reformatting and coordinates before photos. Applekle (talk) 05:43, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
