Sydney Tower?
[edit]Technically, I don't think Sydney Tower should be included as it is not continuously habitable (as one of the requisites to be a skyscraper) and is, surprisingly, a tower! I'm not going to be that pedantic and take it out but I did revert the subheading to 'tallest buildings and structures' so it can stay Steve 04:03, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- Good point, it is not really a skyscraper. But more likely that someone will edit it back in if it was removed, rather than removing it now. lol. I think it should be there. I was about to add a few of the TV towers but outside of the main table. --Merbabu 08:09, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
- That would be good info. Such as the ABC tower in Gore Hill, and the like Steve 23:30, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Proposed Merge
[edit]Rather than merge with List of Sydney's 10 tallest skyscrapers, why not delete the other page and keep this one. The information here is more extensive AND more accurate. (funny how they were BOTH created by Jackp) --Merbabu 13:42, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'll merge (actually delete the other article and redirect here) later today, as I don't think it's a contentious change! Steve 23:46, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Done --Steve 00:36, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
This page definitely need more info
[edit]Like everything else in Sydney compared to the other cities, this article is far behind "List of tallest buildings in Melbourne", "List of tallest buildings in Brisbane", "List of tallest buildings in Perth", and "List of tallest buildings in Adelaide". Those pages have a complete list of every skyscraper present in the city, and a complete list of future projects either proposed, under construction, or on hold, and also any major cancelled buildings. This page just has a list of 14 skyscrapers, there are MUCH more than that in Sydney, and doesn't have any future or cancelled projects. It doesn't even mention the Barangaroo development. Please, this article needs much more information than it currently has!--124.168.19.212 (talk) 06:51, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
List of tallest buildings in Canberra
[edit]Just to let you know that a Kiwi is working on this article in his userspace. I'm sure he'd appreciate a hand by some Aussie editors with an interest in high-rises. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Schwede66 (talk • contribs)
Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:List of tallest bridges in the world which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 13:30, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Chatswood separate page ?
[edit]I dont see why a separate page is required for Chatswood, and therefore excluding some of those buildings - like Metro Grand (@ 170m it would be =16th on the list) - from the list of buildings in Sydney. Sydney is not just the Central Business District, it is the whole of the metropolitan area, and includes Chatswood and Parramatta. Should this not be an integrated article for Sydney's tallest buildings, not the Sydney CBD's tallest buildings ? Matilda Maniac (talk) 02:04, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
- I disagree. They are different CBD's. Someone from Parramatta does not recognise themselves as from "Sydney". This is supported by Parramatta city council. They claim to be NSW's second city, and what not.
- Just like we have Brisbane as its seperate entity as Gold Coast, we should seperate these cities also. —MelbourneStar☆talk 05:23, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- Also, might I add: per Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat and its Skyscraper Database, which we use as a reliable source – Chatswood and Parramatta are their own seperate cities – and hence not included in Sydney's list. —MelbourneStar☆talk 06:15, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Tallest buildings proposed, approved and under construction
[edit]This section within the list requires more references to verify projects, and their details. There is over 50 projects listed in this section which lack any source whatsoever. Data from The Skyscraper Center is pretty reliable, and tends to be the most up to date database. However, one thing to keep in mind: the database does not distinguish between proposed buildings and approved. So SC is good for referencing all projects, but the projects marked as proposed versus approved will also need their own citations confirming as much. —MelbourneStar☆talk 14:23, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
